Ron's Lounge. What can one say. Back in the '80s when I was at McKendree College, this was the place to go. They were welcoming to students of all ages.
They have some great burgers and excellent fries, but don't come in here looking for something all fancy-pants. It's a tavern with tavern food, right down to the giant jar of pickled eggs on the counter.
When you go in, tell Joanie I said "hi" and that I'll be home to visit in May! -

Exactly what I wanted from a bar. The bartender was such a nice lady, the "regulars" were super friendly, the burger and onion rings hit the spot. When my family comes back around this area we will be stopping by again!

Pretty much everything you would expect from a small town bar. Decent food and service. Great fish fry during lent. Good burgers, too. Reasonably priced.

Good, juicy fresh food. My dad & I had the cheeseburger & fries, served hot with a cold draft on tap. Many years ago this would have been my college hangout. I suggest people of all ages, to go in for good food, cold beer & friendly, hometown atmosphere. Joan or barmaid / server was pleasure to meet.

I also had a horrible experience there! Rude and slow service, waiting for gross cold fried food...one word to sum up the experience: Nightmare. Do yourself a favor and don't go..
